The third annual Broadalbin Youth Commission Soccer Skills Camp took place on July 26th through the 30th. Over 80 participants learned the fundamentals of soccer through hands-on coaching and demonstrations while working on skill work, fun challenges and games. The camp, which took place on Patriot Field at the Broadalbin-Perth High School, was hosted by the Broadalbin-Perth coaching staff.

Former USA National team member Mike McQuatters spoke to the group of campers at the BYC skills camp this past week. Mike played for and captained the US Under 18 National Team in 1996 and 1997. On that team, he played with current US men’s national team players Tim Howard, Steve Cherundolo, and Carlos Bocanegra. He talked about his career and experiences through high school, college, and the national level and discussed the importance of playing soccer year round to achieve your goals. Mike is currently the Head Coach of the CBA Girls' Varsity Soccer Team in Syracuse, NY.

BP Cheer will be providing the community with two programs this summer/fall. We will start off with a cheer camp to prepare for the upcoming season.

We are asking parents and community members to help take over the Sports Booster Club. We have a lot of parents whose kids are graduating. We need some middle school parents and high school parents to help out. Please contact Mr. Barnhart to sign up.
